Beautiful cabin, close to fly fishing and McCaysville, Blue Ridge

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We had to reschedule from Jan when a snowstorm, ice threatened us..... David was great! The cabin has two bedrooms, one bath and a beautiful view to the Toccoa river. We enjoyed McCaysville and had fun in Blue Ridge! We will be back!

Wonderful cabin!

We had a wonderful time! The cabin was great. My daughter and I enjoyed trout fishing at Curtis Switch. This is my third time staying at Caddis Shack, usually my daughter books the cabin. The cabin is clean, everything works and is comfortable. Didn’t use the fire pit, but enjoyed the dock. We will definitely book again in the future.

Beautiful and Relaxing

Caddis Shack was lovely with everything you could need. The view was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the river. It was a wonderful place to rest and recharge for us. We hope to go back again sometime.

Great Experience

We recently stayed at this fairly new cabin for a quick 5-night trip with our son and one of his friends, and overall, we had a great experience. The home was very well kept, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the essentials, and the layout included a nice kitchen table and a comfortable family room with two couches and a Roku TV — a great space to relax indoors. One of our absolute favorite parts of the cabin was the screened-in porch. It had a picnic table, several chairs, a ceiling fan, and great lighting. We ended up eating all of our meals out there and spent countless hours just hanging out. It really became the heart of our stay. To access the river, you do need to leave the property, cross a road, open a gate, and walk down to a fire pit and dock. It’s a beautiful area, but if you're focused on fishing, just be aware it can be challenging. The riverbanks have some low-hanging trees which make spin fishing tricky, and water levels vary depending on dam releases. That said, this cabin gave me exactly the kind of peaceful getaway I needed. I gave it 5 stars because the quality of the home and the overall experience truly deserve it. With that in mind, I’d offer two points of awareness for future guests—not complaints, just helpful heads-up. First, the road leading to the cabin has several potholes, many of which collect water and could be tricky to navigate without a vehicle like a truck. I was glad I had mine; a smaller SUV may have struggled. Second, regarding sleeping arrangements: the cabin has two bedrooms — one with a queen bed and the other with a full. Both rooms are compact with beds against the walls, which made it tough for two adults to share the full bed. My wife and I ended up taking turns on the couch since a pullout sofa in the family room wasn't ideal when everyone’s gathered there. I’d highly recommend this cabin for a group of three, maybe four if you don’t mind tight sleeping quarters. It's a cozy, well-appointed getaway in a beautiful area — especially perfect if you’re looking for quality time with family and a peaceful atmosphere.

Fishing trip

We always love booking this cabin. The cabin is extremely well kept, comfortable, and close to the best fishing spots. This is our second time booking and we look forward to booking again later this year

Amazing cabin and lovely hosts

My boyfriend and I brought our dog for a late Valentine's trip and it was amazing. The cabin is so cozy and relaxing. We sat on the deck every day drinking coffee and watching the sun rise and listen to the river. Our dog loved every minute of it and we did too. The hosts are very attentive but still gave us privacy. We were concerned at first since there are several cabins in the area but it's still very private and feels like we're the only people for miles. We will definitely be back. Can't wait for our next stay!

Thanks for staying with us Shelly and looking forward to having you all stay with us again!

Great stay!

Great hosts & beautiful cozy cabin with amazing property on the Toccoa! The amenities and charming touches really made a difference in our stay. Very comfortable for the two of us. As avid fly anglers, we appreciated the decor, the location and the hospitality.

Easy and Well done

My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary trip to the cabin and a wonderful full day of fishing. Booking directly and payment was very easy. I thought I would mention it because some of these private outfits are wishy washy and hard to get straight answers from, and worse the payments aren’t straight forward. Booking was a breeze. Communication was excellent. The cabin is in an amazing spot. When we go back we will probably spend a lot more time at the cabin and less time in Mcaysville or Blueridge because the setting is just so nice. Fishing was great, especially in the way they helped my wife navigate a new experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this trip again or recommend it to friends.

Best Cabin Around

We enjoyed our stay at the Caddis Shack and already want to plan a trip back! The cabin had everything we needed which made our stay easy and comfortable. We took advantage of the guided fly fishing and had a blast. The cabin is very close to downtown Blue Ridge as well which makes for a great weekend getaway. We will be back!
